It perhaps goes without saying, but the healthier an animal, the better its carbon footprint will be. That’s why it’s important for us to be working with great teams of vets in this project, as well as liaising with each farm’s own vet to help make action plans to improve.

We’re measuring and monitoring key performance indicators like:

 - Infectious disease control strategies (esp for BVD and pneumonia)
 - Calf and herd health and mortality reduction
 - Effective colostrum management

Not having health challenges will also ensure that animals reach maturity more quickly.

We’ve been helping farmers with additional knowledge in this area through some great webinars led by the vets we’re working with.
